Professional experience of Joanna Chisholm
1981– : Freelance editor and proofreader. Initially working
principally on general non-fiction books. Since 1989, Joanna has
expanded into desk-top publishing and project management.
1976–1981: Mitchell Beazley. Editor, then senior editor, producing
general non-fiction books and supervising and liaising with a
team of editors, researchers and designers.
1975–1976: Almark Publishing Co Ltd. Joanna mainly
commissioned books on transport history. She also had to design
and paste up the books, liaise with artists, cartographers,
typesetters and printers during all stages of production and
had to arrange publicity.
1971–1975: Eyre Methuen, general division of Associated Book
Publishers. Joanna began as a secretary/editorial assistant, and was
promoted to assistant editor working mainly on reference
and travel books.
